THE SOLUTION

Validated by clinical evidence

We work tirelessly to ensure that we deliver accurate and robust Insights that are science-based, clinically trustworthy, relevant, current, and accessible.

Development of features and content

App features and content are developed in conjunction with leading international scientific and academic advisors, who ensure the clinical quality and efficacy of the app. Our advisors and partners comprise expert representatives across the health sector, including digital health, lifestyle health risks, healthcare analytics, nutrition, pain and musculoskeletal conditions, physical activity and cardiovascular risks, mental health, population health and health promotion.

Review of features and content

Content is reviewed and validated by accredited clinical experts and leading university partners and research institutions to ensure it always meets the highest international standards and to ensure we always continue to provide relevant and reliable health insights to our members.

Additionally, our app is regularly reviewed (at least quarterly) by qualified internal and external experts to ensure it remains at the forefront of best practice and to incorporate the latest in health, science, and regulatory innovation and information.

Peer review

In 2020, we will be engaging in clinical trials which will compare a randomly chosen group of participants who will be distributed into a test and a control group. They will be assessed over a period of time to determine how their health behaviours and outcomes improve after using the HeadUp app. The results will be published in a peer reviewed journal.

Clinical governance

HeadUp has a deeply embedded digital health governance framework which focuses on the end user experience, seeks to effectively manage risk, promotes a shared responsibility for a safe and high-quality product, and enables ongoing improvement.

Our governance approach and framework serves to promote an embedded culture of safety and quality across everything HeadUp does and is modelled on the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) governance framework, as set forth in its National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS) and spans both business and digital health governance.

Stringent privacy controls

We’re fully GDPR and APP-compliant and operate to the highest privacy standards. User data is always completely private and confidential and all data is encrypted and stored in ISO 27001-certified hosting infrastructure.

Medical device quality management

Our Quality Management System (ISO 13485:2016) has been developed for patient self-management and we are compliant with ISO 27001:2013 information security standards.

Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR)

FHIR are part of an international family of standards developed by Health Level-7 (HL7). The information models and APIs developed using this standard provide a means of sharing health and care information between providers and their systems, no matter what setting care is delivered in.

What HeadUp Labs is doing with FHIR

We make use of the HL7 FHIR standard across the different areas that FHIR supports, including:

FHIR ReSTful APIs
FHIR Documents
FHIR Messages
Products developed by HeadUp Labs make use of a consistent set of FHIR profiles.

A number of FHIR profiles and specifications have already been published. These have been developed by working with healthcare providers, vendors, and standards bodies.
